Didn't I do well!

She's not quite finished yet. See if you can spot the bit I wasn't able complete because there wasn't enough white thread. I shall have to get some more.

And yes, I know you can see a black thread through the fabric. It's been dealt with, ok!

Lovely! Who makes the kit - it's a really cool one. I hate really twee things, which you get a lot of in the hobby!

It's by Heirlooms Needlecraft (http://www.cross-stitch-centre.co.uk/acatalog/heirlooms_needlecraft_kits.html), of Alnwick, Northumberland. I don't like twee things either. As I have an application to convert pictures to cross-stitch recipes, I'm thinking of doing things from my own photos when I've had some more practice.

Not now though as I'm skint - the first week in September is a really bad time for Direct Debits being pushed through.

The only problem with those conversion programs is that they will pick up all the small nuances in the colours in the photo and sometimes even put stitches of very odd colours in wehre it doesn't seem like they belong. There wil be a lot of single stitch and lots of changing colours unless you study the resulting pattern and make your own changes manually.

Exactly. I just know what to expect because i've done a cross stitch pattern that was created by software and that's what happened.
