Here's something for anybody who's missed a Tosca fix while I've been away from this place.

Morning Cuddle

The minute I get up I have to sit for a few minutes in my swivelly chair, which for some reason is Tosca's favourite place for her morning cuddle. She is very emphatic about her need for a cuddle the minute I get out of bed.

She can be a handful but the strained look on my face is the result of trying to get a picture while maintaining the cuddle!

Remember the "Wake Me Up" cat? Well here's the sequel - thanks [ profile] thermalsatsuma via [ profile] hooloovoo_42

I'm so pleased to have the old Tosca back.

When I woke up this morning, she was in bed with me, snuggled up to my bum.

Last night I hennaed my hair and stretched out on the sofa to watch a film (a cracker, an old favourite, more of that later).

For the duration of the film. Tosca stretched herself out along the length of my thighs and gave every impression of watching it along with me.

Later, she spent much of the night curled up by my feet and purring gently.

I sense I have a very relieved pussy cat!

Brother and Sister

Just for comparison, here's Marshmallow and Truffle at the biscuit bowls. Truffle looks every so tiny but she's just a normal nine-month cat. She's the cunning and calculating one.

I'm thinking of changing Marshmallow's name to Squeezebox (because he's in and out and in and out and in and out, and he's playing all night...)

Mother and Son

I caught Marshmallow and Tosca at the biscuit bowls together this morning. This doesn't happen very often but it does seem 6to confirm what I've suspected for a while - Marshmallow is bigger than his mother, and he's only nine months old and presumably still growing.

It is a wonderful thing to wake in the night to find Truffle curled up against my tummy and Marshmallow curled up in the crook of my knees.

I'm glad I kept both of them.

This morning I made an appointment with destiny for Marshmallow.

I haven't had the heart to tell him, yet. He's not going to like it though...

My bed is infested with cats.

Truffle has a wash

Truffle just loves running water. When I brush my teeth she appears as if by magic, batting at the stream from the tap. It gets worse - when I shower she's in there with me.

This cat is a head case.

Tosca and the Tosclets

We may be growing up fast now, but we still like to take our afternoon nap together with Mummy.

Except that when Grandma tries to sneak up on us with a camera, we like to wake up so we can pose properly.

Truffle favours the windowsill for her repose.

This seems to be a favourite hanging-out place for Marshmallow lately - poking out of the bottom end of my bed!

Poor Tosca isn't getting the attention she used to get. Maybe that's a good thing.

Aren't we a fine, matronly, figure of a cat these days? What became of the delicate little flibbertigibbet of old?

She's so placid these days she hasn't bitten me for weeks. But she still likes to help out at the computer!

Doesn't seem right to describe them as kittens any more, so let's revert to the fine and authentic old word for a young cat, catling.

Every so often they take a break form hurtling and fighting, and give each other a cuddle.

After I got back from my walk, I left the flat door open on the chain for a while. It has been a lovely afternoon and I thought Tosca might welcome the opportunity to stretch her legs. The little ones might also like to sniff at the outside world.

This they did, and I got on with sme stuff. After a while I noticed that Tosca and Truffle were curled up on my bed, but Marshmallow was nowhere to be seen. I got a bit anxious and went out to find him.

Turns out he'd gone down the outside stairs and then not known how to get back. He was huddled up against the bottom stem on the landing below, and looked frightened. He squealed at me loudly. I picked him up, made a fuss of him, and took him home. He seems to have taken no harm from his adventure.

It's been a while since we had an update. Haven't they grown!

I'm not wishing to count chickens, or even kittens, but Tosca does seem to be getting fat and she feels very heavy...
